VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!

July 7 – July 11, 2025

Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Pleasant View Church is an exciting, fun-filled program designed to help children explore their faith and learn about Christian values in a welcoming and engaging environment. Held during the summer, VBS is open to kids of all ages, typically from preschool through early teens, and includes various activities to make the experience memorable.
1. Biblical Lessons
Each day focuses on a specific Bible story or theme, such as kindness, faith, or courage. At Pleasant View Church, these lessons are presented creatively and age-appropriately, making it easy for children to understand and connect with the teachings.
2. Activities

Crafts:
Children create hands-on projects that tie into the day’s lesson, allowing them to express creativity while reinforcing biblical concepts.
  • Music: Kids sing uplifting songs with Christian messages, often with fun actions or dances.
  • Games: Team and individual games encourage cooperation and reinforce the day's themes.
  • Skits: Engaging performances bring Bible stories to life in a way that captivates young minds.
3. Exciting Themes
Each year, Pleasant View Church’s VBS is centered around a unique theme, such as "Adventure Island," "Galactic Quest," or "Deep Sea Explorers." These themes add an immersive element that excites children to learn and participate.
4. Community Outreach
Pleasant View Church sees VBS as a fantastic opportunity to welcome families from the community, whether they regularly attend the church or not. It’s a time for children and parents to feel embraced by the church family and experience God’s love.
5. Dedicated Volunteers
The program is made possible by a team of caring volunteers from Pleasant View Church, including adults and teens who lead activities, guide small groups, and ensure every child feels included and supported.
Vacation Bible School at Pleasant View Church is more than just a summer program—it’s a chance for kids to build friendships, grow in faith, and create lasting memories in a safe and joyful environment. Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’re a long-time attendee, VBS at Pleasant View Church promises an unforgettable experience!
Have any questions? Email Pat Yohe at patricia.yohe@dallastown.net or call / text 717-683-7378. Your child’s safety is our top priority! All staff and volunteers have passed our mandatory criminal background checks.

Church Picnic

Sunday, August 31st

Immediately following the second service, we will head to the park. You can Google Hershaull Park or use the included address.

Park anywhere that seems logical.
As always, Chip & Godfrey Bros. Meats will provide the main course: pulled pork and Chicken. When you see him next, take a minute to say thanks. It is a generous and delicious gift.

All of us will provide sides, Desserts, and Drinks. Please sign up for one or more when you register. This is an excellent way to live out Acts 4:32, 32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.”

In an effort to simplify my life (as if that were actually possible), we will not be having the dessert competition this year. Please bring your very best and most beautiful desserts, but we will only be judging them inwardly…not outwardly… (Unless you count me licking my plate after eating Helen’s Apple Pie as judging…)

We will again have games for the kids this year. I don’t have all the details, but I’d recommend that you dress your kids to get wet.
There is plenty of room for pop-up games of kickball, wiffle ball, volleyball, etc...

There is plenty of seating inside the building, but feel free to bring chairs to sit outside under the shade trees.
Bathrooms are on site, near the main building.

This event is open to anyone attending Pleasant View, even if it's your first Sunday.
God tells us to enjoy one another in Christian fellowship, and that’s precisely what this event is designed to do. It is a fantastic day with our church family. I look forward to this every year, and I hope you register and plan to attend.

We hope to see you there,
 Samuel Miles
 Pastor of Fellowship

Love Feast is a Christian fellowship meal rooted in Jesus' teachings and the practice of early Christians. It's a time to reflect on our faith, share a meal, and express love and unity within the church. We will participate in feet washing, a communal meal, and communion, symbolizing service, fellowship, and remembrance of Jesus.
